Book clubs outdoors!

This week, book clubs were held outdoors. We shared with each other about characters that we thought might be "allergic" to each other and reasons why .

Book Trailers

This week, we watched book trailers (like movie trailers) that were created for the novels we have been reading. We are now working on creating our own book trailers following a rubric that includes graphics, quotes, and phrases that represent the theme. Students are being very creative and thoughtful about their choices as they know that the viewer will have only one minute to decide whether they want to read this book or not .

Reading groups

During reading groups, we use sticky notes to label examples of personification, imagery and other literary devices. We then enjoy sharing what we have found with the group.

Web Assignment on the U.S. Constitution

We have been studying the U.S. Constitution, it's articles and amendments using supplementary texts. We enjoyed testing our knowledge of the amendments while playing the interactive icivics game in the computer room.
